English Foxhound

The English Foxhound is a courageous, passionate hunter. High energy, they need a lot of daily exercise. They respond well to leadership and are willing and able to be obedient, but are not as responsive as some breeds and training takes patience and a general understanding of the canine animal. It gets along well with horses, dogs, children and other pets. It is an avid sniffer and trailer. It is a tolerant, amiable and gentle dog, even though it is not very demonstrative. It is recommended that if you are looking to own an English Foxhound solely as a pet, that you are an avid jogger, biker or hiker and are looking for a canine partner. Even show lines will need a great deal of exercise, just a little less, as field types are extremely active. This breed not only needs extensive daily exercise, but also an owner who has a determined, consistent loving approach, setting rules and structure and consistently sticking to it.

Canaan

There are 2,000 to 3,000 Canaan dogs across the world, mostly in Europe and North America. The Canaan dog is a typical mongrel in appearance. It is a medium-sized dog, with a wedge-shaped head, medium-sized, erect and low set ears with a broad base and rounded tips. Its outer coat is dense, harsh and straight of short to medium-length. Canaan dogs have a strong survival instinct. They are quick to react and wary of strangers, and will alert to any disturbances with prompt barking, thus making them excellent watchdogs. Though defensive, they are not aggressive and are very good with children within the family, but may be wary of other children or defensive when your child is playing with another child. They are intelligent and learn quickly, but may get bored with repetitive exercises or ignore commands if they find something of more interest.

The Great Dane, also known as German Mastiff or Danish Hound, is a breed of domestic dog known for its giant size. Scooby-Doo, the famous Hanna-Barbera character, was based on a Great Dane by animation designer Iwao Takamoto. The Great Dane is one of the world's tallest dog breeds. Great Danes were originally bred to hunt Boar.

What is a Bully Breed and are they dangerously agressive?

Bully Breeds include breeds such as American pit bull terrier, Boxer, Boston terrier, and the Staffordshire bull terrier to name just a few. There are a lot of negative stereotypes around “bully breeds”. Early consistent training is the key to a loving and loyal, nonaggressive pet. Many of the bully breeds’ natural traits go against their stereotypical behaviors, for instance the English bulldog, are known to be protective of and bond with children.

"Before you begin, make sure to set yourself up for success by finding the right location and tools to train your bully safely. You should make sure your dog has a collar and leash that fit comfortably and allow you to control him if needed. Bullies are stout breeds, so look for leashes made of a strong material that won't break and will allow you maximum control. Many experts, including dog trainer Victoria Stilwell, are against prong, shock or choke collars, and instead recommend head collars like the Gentle Leader for bully breeds. These collars will allow for more control without hurting your dog. You should always keep your dog leashed when training in a public place and try to find a distraction-free zone where other animals aren't likely to catch your trainee's attention.
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) recommends learning what motivates your dog. Rewarded behaviors are most likely to be repeated, so if you can figure out what motivates your dog, you will unlock the key to positive training. Some dogs respond to food rewards while others like toys or praise. Experiment with your bully until you find the right reward, and then you can really begin working on commands and correcting any behavioral problems. Start with teaching basic movement commands such as "sit," "stay" and "come." Bully breeds are extremely intelligent and should master these commands easily."
