Moving with Your Dog.

Moving is stressful, this is true for your best friend as well. Dogs are sensitive and need some extra considerations when moving. If they are being driven or flown to the new home, they'll need a sturdy crate that is the right size and frequent stops to stretch and go to the bathroom. Dogs may become nervous if they aren't used to riding in a car. Taking a few short pre-trips with your dog will help ease the newness of this experience.

Consult your veterinarian to see if supplements or a prescription medicine can help relive a highly anxious dog. Make sure your dog is in good health before the move.

Once at the new residence allow you dog plenty of time to sniff and get used to the place. The adjustment time will be shortened by taking these few steps. We've listed a couple of resource links below for further information.

Norrbottenspets

The dog with the funny name, Norrbottenspets, comes from Sweden and is a medium sized dog (20-30 lbs) with distinctive markings of white and a variety of other colors ranging from black to fawn.

The Norrbottenspets was bred for sport and hunting. The breed is easily trained. Norrbottenspets are highly adaptable and will get along well with families who have both children and other pets, including cats.

While the Norrbottenspets does shed it is not a large dog and will be easy to maintain and groom. They are known to live well into the teen years.
