Italian Greyhound

The Italian Greyhound is an aristocratic breed, originating in Europe and mainly owned by royalty. They are depicted in many of Renaissance era paintings. These dogs have become great companions in modern times.

Known as "Velcro dogs" for their attachment to whoever owns them, the Italian Greyhound is suited to a single owner or someone with no children. The Italian Greyhound is smaller in size compared to a Greyhound and prefers to be in your lap as often as possible! They also prefer a quiet household and are rather high strung. Socialization should begin early with people and other animals.

They are fast runners and will need to be kept on a leash. These dogs have a great health rating but can break bones easily until about 18 months of age. Grooming is minimal.
