This breed is extremely protective and would make an excellent guard dog. Chow Chows need moderate exercise daily. The Chow Chow has a smooth think coat. The dog tends to look like a small bear cub. Grooming needs are high. Combing every other day with special attention when shedding - daily combing will be necessary.
